Sea To Sky World

밴쿠버 아일랜드의 명물인 쉐메이너스는 캐나다 및 미국 지역에서 온 화가들의 마을이기도 하다. 빅토리아와 나나이모 중간에 위치한 해변마을인 이곳은 주택과 건물 벽마다 그린 벽화들이 오는 이들 가슴을 행복한 물감으로 칠해주는 예술적인 작은 타운이다.

원주민들의 모습을 담은 벽화로부터 농부들의 모습, 소 치는 사람들의 땀흘리는 풍경 등 다양한 그림들이 골목마다 거리마다 그려져 있다. 40개 이상의 걸작들이 여행객의 발길을 멈추게 할 뿐 아니라 해풍에 어리며 지나온 작은 마을 이야기를 마음 깊은 곳에 선사한다.

그 누구의 발상인가. 창조적인 오일 페인팅의 붓 가는 곳마다 새로운 세상이 펼쳐지다니. 또한 동화와 같은 레스토랑 발코니와 아이스그림 가게 그리고 선물점들이 곳곳에서 보석처럼 햇살에 빛난다. 바람이 익어가는 여름철에 이곳을 잠시 여행하면 아름다운 인간 내면에 정서로부터 솟아나 따뜻한 기운에 세상을 잊어버린다.

Chemainus, a tourist attraction in Vancouver Island, is a town of painters from Canada and the United States. The city is a seaside village between Victoria and Nanaimo. Travelers who come here experience unending happiness by seeing murals painted on walls of houses and buildings. It is truly a town of art.

 

In particular, wall paintings depicting the first nation people are the main theme. In addition, various pictures such as farmers' appearance, sweaty scenery of the cowing people are drawn every street. More than 40 oil paintings not only stop the traveler's journey, but also tell the story of a small town that has been shaken by the sea breeze.

Who started these things? Everywhere the creative oil painting brush goes, a new world unfolds. Restaurant balconies like fairy tale, ice cream specialty shops and gift stores shine in the sunshine like treasures all over the place. When I travel here for a while during the summer when the wind is getting ripe, I forget the world in a warm aura that emanates from the emotion of a beautiful human being.
