말로만 들었던 부차드가든에 도착하니 그야말로 꽃의 낙원이었다. 22헤타르(55에이커)에 달하는 거대하고 눈부신 화원이다. 계절마다 꽃 종류가 변화되는 다양하고 다채로운 정원이다. 부차드는 20세기 초에 시멘크 채석장에서 탈바꿈하여 인류가 생긴 이래로 최고의 화려한 꽃의 전시장이 되었다. 밴쿠버 아일랜드 빅토리아로 가는 길목에서 서쪽으로 잠시 돌아가면 센트롤 사너치의 명소 부차드가든이 그 모습을 드러낸다. 온갖 물감으로 칠해진 듯 수많은 색상이 초록의 잔디위에서 향기를 발하며 오는 이들의 마음을 꽃잎처럼 피어나게 한다. 1888년 부차드가 시멘트 사업을 시작했다가 1909년 화원으로 변화시켜 그 후손들에게 유산으로 준 이 정원은 2004년 100주년 기념식과 함께  캐나다 국가 유적지로 지정이 되었다. 100주년 기념식을 맞이하여 9.1미터의 거대한 토템 기둥 2개를 세웠다. 또한 동물원안에서 30여종의 동물들이 있고 2009년에는 어린이 정원관과 장미회전목마가 준비되었다. 몇 시간을 돌아야 꽃과 나무들을 즐길 수 있는 이곳은 인간의 마음과 노력이 얼마나 위대한 지 잘 보여주는 환상적인 천상의 오아시스다. 아로마 향기가 허공을 부드럽게 흘러다니고 온 세상 피부가 다른 사람들의 행복한 눈빛이 황금빛 햇빛 사이로 춤을 춘다. 꽃과 나무를 사랑하는 심혼에서 창조된 이곳을 지나게 되면 마치 에덴의 사람이 된 것 같다. 장미와 튜율립의 미로를 지나다보면 마치 꿈을 꾸는 것 같다. 영혼의 깃든 무한한 기쁨이 터져 행복이 세포마다 어린다.

Butchart Garden is a huge and breathtaking garden of 22 hectares (55 acres). Flowers are changing in a variety of ways in every season. Butchart was originally a cement quarry, and in the 20th century it was transformed into a botanical park and became the 21st-century botanical flower garden. On the way from Swartz Bay in Vancouver Island to Victoria, Butchart Gardens is filled with dazzling flowers painted with all kinds of colours. Visitors became happy flowers. In 1888, Butchart began his cement business and transformed it into a flower garden in 1909. The garden, which was given to her descendants as heritage, was designated as a Canadian national heritage site along with the centennial celebration in 2004. Two massive totem poles of 9.1 meters were erected at the centennial celebration.
